Overview: This position will serve primarily in a supervisory capacity but has the ability to work in the capacity of a server.  Supervisors are expected to oversee and run outlet dining functions, complete necessary daily administrative duties and enforce/maintain all service standards, procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise outlet activities, perform opening and closing duties for the outlet
  • Supervisor shift employees ensuring all expected standards are met and company policies are enforced
  • Perform administrative duties to include scheduling employees, performing inventory,  ordering supplies, completing daily paperwork and reporting shift information to manager
  • Act as a public relations representative for the outlet with guests including: explaining menu and specials, taking orders, up-selling, collecting the bill, assisting all other employees, and resolving customer issues and delivering superior service
  • Perform accurate cash handling
  • Maintain thorough cleanliness and sanitation of work and dining areas as well as other cleaning as necessary
  • Serve as mediator between front and back of house outlet staff.
  • Work with chefs to resolve guest food complaints
  • Monitor and enforce state liquor laws and alcohol awareness
  • Lead by example and train employees by demonstrating proper service standards, procedures and policies
  • Share menu knowledge with team
  • Conduct meetings and daily line-ups
  • Call in or off staff based on business volume
  • Maintain visibility during peak outlet dining hours
  • Assist with serving duties when outlet is busy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Required 2-3 years of relevant experience in a restaurant or hotel food and beverage operation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook preferred
  • Must be willing to teach, and provide constructive feedback
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds, to lift loaded food tray above shoulder
  • Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for 8-10 hours in a hot environment
  • Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive hand and foot action with good hand/eye/foot coordination
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change, new situations changes in staffing and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, liquor, beer and styles of service
  • Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
  • Possess Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire
  • Possess alcohol certification within 30 days of hire
  • Take Cash Handling/Credit Card training within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays
