Overview: This position is responsible for providing guest and member dining services at preferred standards. Servers will be assigned locations based on level of experience to take orders and serve guests and members of the property. Reports to the outlet manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
- Follow all policy, procedures and service standards.
- Prepares facility for dining ensuring napkins, service plates and utensils are ready to go.
- Provide guests/members with menu info and specials
- Respond immediately and professionally to guest service issues and report the situation to the manager on duty.
- Accurately record and enter all food and beverage items in to the POS system along with any special dietary needs; pick up, garnish, and serve food and beverages promptly to guests; collect and process forms of payment; ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
- Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques helping patrons select food and beverages by offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; and answering food preparation questions.
- Responds to additional patron requirements by observing dining process.
- Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other needs
- Offer and serve alcoholic beverages while adhering to established alcohol policies protecting the property and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control practices.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner with the awareness that most actions and communications are within guest view.
- Ensure a congenial atmosphere.
- Maintain cleanliness of Dining Room and service areas.
- Complete assigned duties within each shift.
- Collect accurate payment from the guest and depositing the exact amount of sales.
- Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors: front and back-of-house.
- Concludes dining experience by inviting patrons to return.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess general math skills with the ability to be accurate and thorough
- Possess the ability to develop relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Possess verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Ability to learn menus items, specials, features, food, and beverages.
- Ability to provide guests with general property and area information.
- Server experience in comparable restaurant preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience lifting, balancing and carrying service trays shoulder height that weigh 40 lbs. a plus
- Ability to organize and prioritize while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
- Ability to absorb information quickly: Service procedures, dining room floor plan, and point of sales
- Certification in TIPS alcohol awareness program is required within 30 days of hire
- Must have Food Handler’s card within 30 days from date of hire
- Must have cash handling within 30 days from hire
- Must be able to walk. Stand, lift and carry 40 pounds, bend, stretch and reach, climb stairs for 8 hour shift.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays.
